Friendship of Hell

Yami was sitting on a train which was heading to Inkopolis. He was playing with his phone and was listening to some music through his headphones. Yesterday he turned 14 and he was eager to partake in Turf Wars. Yami was a bit bum that his brother Roko and sister Ryoko didn't want to come with him. They were triplets so they just turned 14 as well. They had no interest in the sport. However his older brothers Duko and Kaze were into it, but they were much older and had their own team they played on. Also they weren't interested in playing with a noob despite being siblings. Yami hoped that he could meet some inklings to play with. When the train finally arrived, Yami stepped off at the platform and headed into the city. He made his way to the Plaza and it was jammed back with other inklings. Yami stood in the middle and wasn't sure where to start. He let out a heavy sigh.

It was early in the morning and Flora was already at the Booyah base looking into the T.V station where Callie and Marie were doing a live broadcast of the stages that was being switched. She looked at awe. She loved the Squid sisters so much and was a very big fan of them! She always got pumped to play turf wars when listening to their songs. It had been a few months now that she started playing Turf Wars. She wasn't the best player ever but she could at least cover enough ink to level up. No one was great when they first off and she was still getting use to the ropes! Once they were done Flora looked over to the railing to search around for a group of Squids who would play with her. She was only level seven at this point. She really wanted to level up higher to be able to Rank! Sadly enough she didn't know which weapon she was good at. She had a bit of everything, from her shooter, to the Roller, but she was having fun with the Charger weapon. Just.... it wasn't as easy as it looked.

Taking another look around she saw a few inklings walking off the train. Some of them she remember but there was one that looked new! Target Locked! Right away she ran over to the stairs, slid down the railing, and ran up to the inkling boy. "Hey! You are new here right!? Want to play turn wars with me!?" She said right away. Yeah she was very hype up and full of energy.

Yami took a step back, when a girl ran right up to him. "Um." He wasn't sure how to react to her, but she wanted to play with him. "Sure. I'm Yami what's your name?"

Flora eyes lite up when he said he would play with her. "Flora!" She said with a big smile on her face. "I'm only a level seven, so we are kinda on the same level! Come on grab your gear and I can meet you in the lobby!" She said to him as she ran over to the doors. She was just too excited to wait for him now.

"Oh," Yami began to say, but Flora ran off. He frowned. Did it not occur to her that being new meant he had nothing? He just ran over to her. "I don't have any gear yet."

Flora stopped running and looked behind her to Yami. "Wait do you don't even have the beginner gear like the White Headband, Basic Tee, Cream Basics, and Splattershot Jr?" She asked him as she was wearing some gear she bought with the little money she made. It wasn't much but she at least had something.

"Uhhh, I just got here," he said. He felt a bit embarrassed. Yami looked around. "So where do I get the beginner stuff?" He looked back her. "Miss level seven."

"Well I got mine from Judd. All the new squids see him first and he gives you a box with it." She said pointing to the big lazy cat sleeping in front of the gates of the lobby. "Once you level up and get some coins you can get gear right over there." She said pointing to the stores. "Some of there stuff is really pricey. But they are all worth it!"

"Oh, right Judd," Yami said. He wished his brothers told him about all of this. He felt stupid for not knowing anything. So Yami walked over to the cat and got the starter box from him. He then found a place to changed into his gear and he returned to Flora. "Alright, now I'm ready." He gave her a smile.

Flora grabbed him by his hand. "LETS GO!!" She said happily and ran off with him to the lobby. The two stages that were up was Walley Wearhouse, and Kelp Dome. She was super excited because Walley Wearhouse was one of her favs. She looked over to the Ink pads and gave him a smile. "Getting in a battle is easy. All you do is walk over to one of the Ink pads. We wait for Eight inklings to join. Once its ready it takes you to one of the two levels. Teams are random we might not be on the same team. Once you come up from the pad you wait for the count down and the GAME BEGINS!" She explained to him. She wanted to tell him how things worked around there because she didn't have anyone. She was just as lost and confused when she first started out. And of course she was the easiest Target. "So want to give it a shot?"

Yami was shocked, when Flora took him by the hand. They ran into the Lobby. He wasn't sure what to make of this Flora girl. She was too hyper for him, but she was really nice. He was lucky that she approached him. He could have been approached by some older kids who wanted to mess with a noob. Not that he fall for that, but still.

"Sure," he said with a grin. He was excited to finally to be able to play Turf Wars. He has been dreaming about it for years. Both of them stepped on the pad and after six more players join they were transported to their match.

They appeared at Walley Wearhouse. When they a voice shouted go, their team took off. Yami noticed Flora was on his team. He was happy about this he could see how she plays to help him get the hang of things.

Once the match started Flora Started to Ink up as much turf as she could around the area with her splatter shot. "Good luck! Call me when you need me!" She yelled over to him. She had made her way down over to the alleyway where it let to a drop off behind a wall. This was her fav spot to be in. She always like to try and get people in this area. She kept her eye on the field to make sure there was no blue Ink coming her way (Enemy ink)

Flora was not the best at this Turf war. She went off on her own a lot when she was much better with her team mates. This was something she was still learning. She inked up as much as she could Until her hair started to glow and move. Her special was ready to use! However she did learn not to use them right away. She saved them for later.

Yami clenched his weapon while he watched his teammates went off. He took a deep breath and ran off. Yami ink a path down an alley way on left side of the map. He went down there since the enemy couldn't get up there. He wanted to test out his weapon a bit. When he felt he was ready, Yami dove off the ledge and headed into the center of the map. He covered the area with his orange and just ran around. Sadly he got splatted! He forgot about swimming in ink!

Flora turfed up the side as much as she could before moving herself closer to the center. As she swam she saw Yami walking around inking the place up. Hiding behind the wall she kinda just stared at him for a bit. "You can swim in the Ink Ya Know!" She called out to him. However he got splatted and a sweet beam rolled down her face. What else would she had expected? While she was too busy watching Yami she got Splatted as well from a kid who snuck up on her. She got so mad too! She just got her Special! Re-spawning at the base she swam back into the ink and went to the ally way. She wanted her special back!!!

Yami respawned at the base and smacked his head. He what heard Flora call out to him. How could he forget about swimming in ink? Yami morphed into a squid and swam down a path created by one of their teammates. He sneaked around in his ink watching out for the enemy. When he was in the clear, he started inking. As he ink he noticed somesquid was about get Flora from behind. He quickly made his way over to her and saved her.

"Watch your back!" he popped out of the ink and gave her a grin.

Flora ears twitched a bit hearing Yami call out to her. She turned around and quickly threw a splate bomb at the on coming squid and she swam away from him. Yeah Flora wasn't the one to play much offence in the game. She was very much deference and shockingly enough, was scared to get splatted by the enemy. That's why she got the weapon with the Inkzooka because she was scared of facing one on one with a Kraken. When she first started out playing there was this really mean squid who would always hunt her down and splat her when he became a Kraken. It had left a scar on her ever sense. 

"Thanks noob!" She yelled over to him as she continue to swim away and Ink up the blue ink as she continue to run. Yami seem to be getting use to this.

"Noob?" Yami stood there and sighed. Really? He just saved her.

The match continued on. Yami was slowly getting the hang of things. He got splatted a few more times. They actually won the match. They reappeared in the Lobby and Yami jumped off the pad. He looked at Flora. "So am I still a noob?"

They had won the match by 8.3% Which wasn't back at all. Was kinda close at the end. Once they were on the landing pad Flora saw Yami step in front of her and ask if he was still a noob. She only shook her head a bit and laugh. "Yep! You are going to be a probie until you get the hang of things around here." She said with a laugh. She looked at the money she had earn from that round and fround a bit. She was saving up to get some fresh new gear but she still didn't have enough to get the head gear she wanted. She really needed to focus on getting more turf. "I'm going to hang around in front of the lobby a bit. Until I can do another match. What about you?" She asked him putting the money away in her poket.

Yami frowned. He didn't like being called a noob. He handled that match pretty well for somesquid who has never played. "I'm not sure.. I may just walk around the plaza and sight see."

Flora smiled at him. "Well don't let me stop you! I'm going to chill here if you ever want to battle again! Who knows we could be on the same team again!" She said to him looking back at the Lobby. However her smile went away once she looked up at the tower.

 The great Zap fish... It was not there anymore. It had been a few weeks since it went missing and since then Turf wars have been decreasing because of the lack of power. They might even have to cancel the next big Splatfest! Turning over to the TV Station where she thought about the last major broadcast they did. They both said not to panic because there were two agents on the case. Agent 1 and 2. No one knew who these two were but it had been over a week now and there was no new updates on this missing zapfish. Things were getting bad. However some Zapfish was still around but she didn't know for how long.

She sat down on the ground and played around with her shoe laces for a bit. She was so bored waiting around doing nothing. She missed the days where she could go back to back with turf wars. She really wanted to go into rank mode... But with the power going out slowly it looked like things were not getting better. But maybe the Agents would solve the case soon. "Hey Yami, Do you think the Zapfish problem will solve soon?" She asked him having a bit of a worry look on her face.

Yami shrugged. "Who knows." He looked toward the stores. "I'm sure it will come back soon." He felt his stomach grumble. Yami looked back at her. "Do you want to get something to eat? I'm sure you know good places around here. I'm from the suburbs so I know nothing about the city."

Flora looked up at him and gave a small laugh when his stomach growled. "Yeah, I live in the city. Oh! I know this nice dinner we can go to! Come on I'll take you there!" She said getting up and grabbing his arm. For about five minutes Flora had dragged him down and around the city until they got to this small place. "Here we are! The people here know me since I come here a lot! Come on! Lets go get a booth!" She said running in and sliding into a empty booth. it was the one she always sat in when she came to this Dinner.

Yami was starting to warm up to Flora. She somewhat reminded him of his sister Ryoko, but more hyper. He just let her drag him to the restaurant. When they sat down at the booth, he grabbed a menu that was place by the napkins. "Hmm. I'm not sure what to order. What do you usually get?"

Flora looked over to him when he ask what she normally gets here. She pointed to a picture and smiled. "I normally get the Crabby cake! It's so good here! Or the shrimp Sandwich. But for today I think I am going... to get...." She said slowly going through the menu of all the foods. "The Fishy burger with extra fries!" She said putting the menu down. "Get what you want I will pay if you like!"
